Have a 2014 Honda or Other Vehicle? Wondering About CarPlay?

CarPlay is available on certain models of Hondas, Hyundais, Mercedes, Ferraris and Volvos. Apple has stated the following car manufacturers will integrate CarPlay in the future: BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Opel, PSA, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota. CarPlay also requires an iPhone 5, iPhone 5C or iPhone 5S.

I Have a 2014 Car from One of the Manufacturers Listed Above, Where is CarPlay?
Some users are confused as to which car models, specifically, support CarPlay. There was one particular discussion where users were inquiring about the 2014 Honda Civic. According to a Honda salesperson, they will be rolling out CarPlay in a firmware update, and it is not available at this time. You can take a look at the discussion if you want. The user in that discussion also mentions that they were told the 2014 Honda Accord will not support it.
If you have a car from another compatible manufacturer, the story may be similar. Some models might not support it, and some, you may need to wait for the company to release a firmware update. If this is the case, you should be notified by email or U.S. mail when the update is available, and then you can bring your car into the dealer to have them upgrade the software for you. That being said, some models from compatible manufacturers have CarPlay ready from the get-go. However, if you were feeling let down after having bought a 2014 car and not being able to use CarPlay, put your worries at ease, and call the manufacturer - you may just need to wait for an update (for clarity's sake, we are referring to a software update for your car, not an iOS software update for your iPhone).
Pioneer is making some aftermarket CarPlay-compatible radios for cars that do not natively support CarPlay (as of late, there has been some controversy as to whether the 2014 Civic will be getting CarPlay or not). Check them out: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/CarPlay. They are fairly pricey, though - starting at $700 - and will be available this Summer.
